Why Leadville?

Leadville is steeped in rich history from the changing of the town name over 5 times to the famous "Unsinkable Molly Brown" who would frequent the local bars from time to time. Leadville at one point was the second highest populous city after Denver and was proposed to be the first capital of the state. Just down the road is Camp Hale which was the base for the 10th mountain division which trained over 15,000 soldiers during the time of World War 2 and inspired the creation of over 60 ski resorts in Colorado.

Leadville is known for its culture bringing events like pack burro racing, ski-joring, ultra marathons, downhill skiing at Cooper, Copper and Vail and so much more. When you are done from an incredible day of mountain adventure stop at one of the esteemed local food spots such as the Legendary Silver Dollar Saloon, Tree Line Kitchen or local favorite Tennessee Pass Cafe. You can also hike Tennessee Pass and be fed in a Yurt!
